christmas cliche.

its interesting, the christmas lights,
the way they segue into the nights, personified they shine so bright,

and the wind sings a tune, reminiscent of bells,
and a reindeer whos nose shone so bright,

it makes us believe, that this is a magic time,
but this holiday is just so cliched.

santa claus is at the mall today,
but im too old to sit on his lap,
i wanted to ask him, to bring my hope back

cuz i used to believe, in fairy tale endings,
but it never snows on christmas day.
but to me this holiday,
is just, too cliched.

then i saw mom and dad sitting by the tree,
while my sister shook the presents joyfully,
to find what was inside,
was it toys or clothes or money?

and my grandma sat there in her rocking chair,
smiling gently at us in her pretty silver hair,
thats when,

grandpa walked in dressed as santa claus,
and all the kids with him began to raise their paws,
and cheer, time for our presents!

and everybody smiled.
the jingle bells chimed,
the lights brightly shined,
what more was to find?

this holiday, so cliched
but the joy and cheer,
and love feel, is real

and its just what we need to make it towards a new year.
